Watch: Beastie Boys celebrate the 25th anniversary of Ill Communication with a new short film
Still Ill: 25 Years of Ill Communication features interviews with the surviving Beastie Boys and archival footage.
To mark the 25th anniversary of the release of Beastie Boys' fourth studio album, Ill Communication, Amazon Music have released a new mini-documentary chronicling the legacy of the epic 1994 album.
The 14-and-a-half minute film features commentary and interviews with Mike D (Michael Diamond) and King Ad-Rock (Adam Horovitz), as well as producer Mario Caldato Jr and keyboardist "Money" Mark Nishita, as they discuss the making of Ill Communication. The documentary also incorporates archival footage, and explores the late Beastie Adam "MCA" Yauch's journey into activism.
Last year, Mike D and Ad-Rock released Beastie Boys Book. The memoir, described as "superb" in Hot Press's Music Book of the Fortnight review, featured contributions from the likes of Amy Poehler, Wes Anderson and Spike Jonze -- and even revealed that Yauch was a massive Stiff Little Fingers fan.
