WATCH: Barry Keoghan in The Weeknd’s Hurry Up Tomorrow trailer
Dublin actor Barry Keoghan is set to join Jenna Ortega and The Weeknd in the musician's latest project.
A trailer for the upcoming film Hurry Up Tomorrow has been released, providing a glimpse of Barry Keoghan, Jenna Ortega, and Abel ‘The Weeknd’ Tesfaye’s performances.
Hurry Up Tomorrow is a psychological thriller, directed by Trey Edward Shulz, and shares its name with The Weeknd’s recent album. The film is co-written by the musician alongside Shulz.
The trailer features a series of high-speed clips, with the stars involved in mysterious and strange events. The Weeknd plays an insomniac musician in the midst of a personal crisis, based on himself. Keoghan plays the character of Lee and Ortega performs as Anima.
Hurry Up Tomorrow will be The Weeknd's debut as the lead role in a feature film.
Keoghan was nominated at The Academy Awards for his performance in The Banshees of Inisherin in 2023, winning a BAFTA for the same role. He is a prolific actor, most recently known for his starring role in 2023’s Saltburn and 2024's Bring Them Down.
Ortega, who has been acting since childhood, garnered widespread recognition for her role in Netflix’s Wednesday. She also starred in the reboot of Beetlejuice, appropriately named Beetlejuice Beetlejuice.
The Weeknd previously appeared as himself in Adam Sandler’s Uncut Gems, and had attempted to make his own series. The Idol, a HBO series created by the musician, was not renewed after its first season, following a poor reception.
A release date for Hurry Up Tomorrow has not been confirmed.
