A24 has released the first trailer for The Death of Robin Hood, starring Hugh Jackman.
The film was written and directed by Pig (2021) director Michael Sarnoski, and features performances from Jackman and Killing Eve star Jodie Comer. Jackman recently appeared in the biographical-musical film Song Sung Blue, the story of a Neil Diamond tribute band.
The Death of Robin Hood is scheduled to arrive later this year and is described as a "dark reimagining" of the Robin Hood parable.
"Unlike most previous iterations of the legendary outlaw, Jackman’s Robin Hood is a battleworn loner who finds himself gravely injured and in the hands of a mysterious woman, who offers him a chance at salvation,” reads the synopsis.
Production for the film took place at Belfast's Harbour Studios, and wrapped up in late March, with some filming taking place at Silent Valley, Glenarm and Murlough Bay.
Jackman is additionally included as an executive producer alongside Sarnoski, Jon Rosenberg, Natalie Sellers and Rama Gottumukkala.
