A24 film Primetime features new Phoebe Bridgers song 'On Video'

The upcoming A24 film Primetime, in Irish and UK cinemas on October 30, is set to feature a new Phoebe Bridgers song, 'On Video'.

The indie folk-rock artist composed 'On Video' specifically for Primetime, drawing influence from composer Ari Balouzian's original score to draw the film to an end, as her song functions as the closing track.

Directed by Lance Oppenheim, Primetime chronicles Chris Hansen's 2000s TV programme, To Catch a Predator. It hits US cinemas today.

Robert Pattinson portrays Hansen, with Merritt Wever, Skyler Gisondo and Bridgers starring in additional roles.

The film is Bridgers' first time acting as a cast member for a film, but it technically isn't her debut appearance in a film. In 2024, she made a cameo as herself in Jane Schoenbrun's I Saw the TV Glow.

Last month, Bridgers made her return as a solo artist with Lost Weekend, her third solo LP overall and first in six years, following 2020's Punisher. The record debuted at No.2 on the Official Irish Albums Chart, narrowly missing the No.1 spot to The Script's The User's Guide to Being Human.

Lost Weekend features collaborators the likes of Jack Antonoff, Alex G, Bo Burnham, Lucy Dacus, Julien Baker and others.

To celebrate the album, she is currently on a tour of Europe, the UK and North America, with two sold-out shows at Dublin's 3Arena on November 23 and 24.
