Bridgers, known for her solo work and as part of supergroup boygenius, has branched out into acting, with perforamnces as herself in I Saw The TV Glow last year and Between Two Ferns: The Movie in 2019.
Her pivot towards film work in follows a trend among other musicians moving towards Hollywood projects, such as Charli XCX and Frank Ocean who are also involved in other A24 projects.
Primetime is produced by and stars Robert Pattinson as a journalist who "takes on an underworld of crime and ends up changing television forever."
Directed by filmmaker Lance Oppenheim, Primetime is supposedly inspired by American reality television series To Catch A Predator. The series, hosted by Chris Hanson, staged sting operations to confront and arrest adult men meeting with minors - impersonated by adult actors - for sex.
The film does not yet have a release date, as it is currently still in production.
