Saoirse Ronan, Aimee Lou Wood, Anna Sawai, and Mia McKenna-Bruce join Beatles biopics cast
Recent reports have also hinted at further casting news to come, including roles for Brian Epstein, George Martin, Ravi Shankar, and Cynthia Lennon.
Sony Pictures has announced new casting details for Sam Mendes’ Beatles biopic project, The Beatles – A Four-Film Cinematic Event, set to release in April 2028.
Saoirse Ronan has been confirmed to play Linda McCartney, while Shōgun’s Anna Sawai will take on the role of Yoko Ono. The White Lotus star Aimee Lou Wood will portray Pattie Boyd, George Harrison’s wife from 1966 to 1977, and Mia McKenna-Bruce (How To Have Sex) will play Maureen Starkey Tigrett, Ringo Starr’s first wife.
“Maureen, Linda, Yoko, and Pattie are four fascinating and unique figures in their own right,” said Mendes. “I’m thrilled that we’ve managed to persuade four of the most talented women working in film today to join this amazing adventure.”

The four Beatles themselves will be played by Harris Dickinson (John Lennon), Paul Mescal (Paul McCartney), Joseph Quinn (George Harrison), and Barry Keoghan (Ringo Starr).
Each film will tell its own story but intersect to form a portrait of The Beatles’ rise, relationships, and cultural impact.
Paul McCartney and Linda Eastman met in 1967 while she was working as a photographer and married in 1969, remaining together until her death in 1998.
Yoko Ono and John Lennon met in 1966 and married three years later, while Boyd met Harrison during the filming of A Hard Day’s Night and later inspired several iconic songs, including 'Something.'
Ringo Starr met Maureen Cox, a Liverpool hairdresser, in 1962; they married in 1965 and had three children together before separating in 1975.
In preparation for their roles, both Mescal and Keoghan have met with their real-life counterparts.
Mescal revealed to IndieWire that he will perform his own vocals in the films after spending time with Paul McCartney, describing him as “an extraordinary man.”
Keoghan shared on Jimmy Kimmel Live! that he recently met Ringo Starr, adding that his goal is “to humanise him and bring feelings to it, not just imitate.”
The Beatles – A Four-Film Cinematic Event is set to be released in April 2028, with each film rolling out over a series of weeks.
