MTV VMAs to be delayed to accommodate US Presidential Debate
The awards ceremony will be delayed by a day to avoid a clash with Harris and Trump's first debate.
MTV have announced that the VMAs will be delayed by one day, as well as revealing some of the acts set to perform at the ceremony.
Initially set to take place on September 10, the show has been delayed by one day to accommodate the Presidential debate between Kamala Harris and Donald Trump.
The broadcaster has encouraged viewers to tune in to the debate, with the network historically placing emphasis on the importance of voting.
The debate will be held on ABC, and will be the first time Harris and Trump face each other since Harris was chosen as the Democratic Party candidate.
As well as the postponement, MTV also announced some of the acts set to perform, with Chapell Roan and Sabrina Carpenter among them.
Camilla Cabello, Glorilla, and Rauw Alejandro were also announced as performers. The ceremony will be a debut for all, except for Cabello who will be marking her 3rd appearance.

With the ceremony now taking place on the anniversary of the 9/11 terror attacks, MTV have announced they will support the nonprofit organisation 9/11 Day, which runs the September 11 National Day of Service and Remembrance.
The broadcaster will also support Tuesday’s Children, an organisation which offers help to the families affected by the attacks.
