Final trailer released for D-Day drama Pressure starring Andrew Scott and Kerry Condon

The final trailer has been released for Pressure, a World War II drama that centers on the events leading up to D-Day.

The film, directed by Anthony Maras (Hotel Mumbai), stars Dublin-born BAFTA Award winner Andrew Scott, Tipperary-born Academy Award nominee Kerry Condon and Academy Award winner Brendan Fraser.

Pressure is based on true historical events and the 2014 stage play of the same name written by David Haig.

“In the seventy two hours leading up to D-Day, all the pieces are in place except for one key element – the British weather," reads an official description of the film. "Britain’s chief meteorological officer James Stagg (Andrew Scott) is called upon to deliver the most consequential forecast in history, locking him into a tense standoff with the entire Allied leadership.”

“With only his trusted aide Captain Kay Summersby (Kerry Condon) to confide in … the final decision rests with Supreme Allied Commander Dwight D. Eisenhower (Brendan Fraser). With only hours to go, the fate of the war and the lives of millions hang in the balance.”

The cast also sees Golden Globe and Emmy Award winner Damian Lewis in the role of Field Marshall Bernard Montgomery and Chris Messina as Irving P. Krick, Eisenhower’s trusted wartime meteorologist.

It was co-written by Maras and Haig, who also played James Stagg in the stage production.

Pressure will hit Irish and UK cinemas on September 9.
