Netflix announce Ruth Bradley, Carrie Crowley, Jane Brennan, and more set to star on Walk The Blue Fields
Inspired by Claire Keegan's collection of short romantic stories set in rural Ireland, Walk The Blue Fields.
Netflix have announced the additional cast for their upcoming film Walk The Blue Fields.
Directed by John Crowley, Walk The Blue Fields' newly announced actors include Mark Stanley, Dublin actress Ruth Bradley, Waterford-born actors Carrie Crowley and Naoise Dunbar, Irish actress Jane Brennan, and Belfast actress Bríd Brennan.
Last month, it was announced that BAFTA-winning Dublin actor Andrew Scott, Belfast actor Ciarán Hinds, Tom Cullen from Trespasses and House of the Dragon, and Golden Globe award-winning actress Emily Blunt star in the film.
As well as starring in the movie, Blunt is serving as a producer alongside Denis O'Sullivan, Jeff Kalligheri, Ed Guiney and Andrew Lowe.
Ori Allon, Matthew Gallagher, Dennis Casali, Steven Garcia, John Crowley, Conor McPherson, Claire Keegan, and Edmund Sampson are serving as executive producers.
Written by McPherson and inspired by Keegan's collection of short romantic stories set in rural Ireland, Walk The Blue Fields is being shot in Ireland.
"On her wedding day, a woman's future is thrown into doubt when she is confronted with a heart-wrenching decision, as a love triangle from her past threatens to be revealed," a working logline read.
This isn't the first time Keegan's work has been adapted to the big screen. In 2022, her book Foster was adapted into an Irish-language film, An Cailín Ciúin. Two years later, her novel Small Things like These was made into a movie featuring Oscar-winning Cork actor Cillian Murphy.
