James Norton to play Brian Epstein in Beatles films
Following his recent role in House of Guinness, James Norton is set to appear in the Beatles biopics.
James Norton is reportedly set to portray Brian Epstein, the Beatles' manager, in the upcoming four-part series of Beatles biopics. The news was first reported by Deadline.
He will star alongside Paul Mescal playing Paul McCartney, Barry Keoghan as Ringo Starr, Harris Dickinson as John Lennon and Joseph Quinn as George Harrison.
Sony Pictures and director Sam Mendes announced in April that four individual Beatles films will be released in April 2028, each told from the perspective of one of the band members.
Epstein met the band in 1961 and helped them rise to prominence in their early years. He managed the group until he died of a drug overdose in 1967 at the age of 32.
The 2024 biopic Midas Man depicts Epstein's years with the Beatles.
Due to his influence on the band, it is likely that Norton will depict Epstein in all four films.
Last year, the actor portrayed record producer Chris Blackwell in the musical biopic Bob Marley: One Love.
Additionally, Norton has appeared in House of Guinness and Happy Valley.
The news follows last week's announcement that Saoirse Ronan is set to portray Linda McCartney in the biopics.
