You raise me up

In theory, Ireland’s best loved pop strumpet is in a perfect position to breathe some youthful life into the stuffy sound of the tenors, but unfortunately, Samantha misses the mark by a country mile. It’s all terribly MOR, in a Wind-Beneath-My-Wings kind of way – despite the heartfelt delivery on everyone’s part and the song’s bracing orchestral balladry, ‘You Raise Me Up’ is positively underwhelming. Strictly one for the tourists…and those who don’t know any better.
