Wire for Whelan's
The legendary Londoners are over in November
Punk-era survivors Wire have confirmed a November 26 visit to Whelan’s, tickets for which are €20.
Although lumped in with the rest of the Class of ’76, the band were always a more cerebral beast than yer’ Johnny Mopeds and Slaughter & The Dogs’ and along with the likes of Joy Division and Public Image Limited were quick to go off in new directions.
Whilst not adverse to playing the odd classic like ‘12XU’ and ‘Outdoor Miner’, Wire are no mere peddlers of nostalgia with their current Red Barked Tree album an absolute cracker.
