Weyes Blood and Orville Peck cut ties with Wasserman agency over Epstein ties
"Casey Wasserman’s behaviour is fundamentally at odds with everything I value," said Weyes Blood on her exit from the agency.
Weyes Blood and Orville Peck are among the latest artists to exit Wasserman talent agency, following news that founder Casey Wasserman appears in the Epstein files.
Weyes Blood took to social media to announce her departure from the agency, stating that while she has "immense respect and affection for my booking agents," she "will not be remaining with Wasserman".
She continued the statement saying: "Casey Wasserman’s behaviour is fundamentally at odds with everything I value.”
Amid the ongoing release of the Epstein files, it was revealed that the Wasserman founder/CEO communicated with convicted sex trafficker and Jeffrey Epstein co-conspirator Ghislaine Maxwell, over email 20 years ago.
Wasserman, who is also the chairman of the Los Angeles Organizing Committee for the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games, has since addressed the emails with Maxwell.
“I deeply regret my correspondence with Ghislaine Maxwell which took place over two decades ago, long before her horrific crimes came to light,” he said.
“I never had a personal or business relationship with Jeffrey Epstein. As is well documented, I went on a humanitarian trip as part of a delegation with the Clinton Foundation in 2002 on the Epstein plane. I am terribly sorry for having any association with either of them.”
Other artists who have announced their exit from the Wasserman agency in the last week include Chappell Roan, Wednesday, Gigi Perez, Beach Bunny and Dropkick Murphys.
