WATCH: New Darkest Era video
Viking-themed promo for 'An Ancient Fire Burns'...
Fermanagh metallers Darkest Era hit the road for visits to The Pint, Dublin (April 27) and The Limelight, Belfast (28) with doom merchants Mael Mordha supporting.
Following on from a comprehensive UK tour, the shows are in support of their ‘An Ancient Fire Burns’ single, which is taken from their The Last Caress Of Light album.
The accompanying video was shot by a new Belfast production company called Fastville.
The Metal Blade recording artistes have a very healthy following, which includes American actor and comedian Brian Posehn.
“’An Ancient Fire Burns’ is a song about primal instincts and desire; and in this video we used a narrative that we really hope will grip people,” says guitarist Ade Mulgrew. “It´s an old school buried-alive-in-coffin concept that compliments the themes in the song. We also shot the band's performance by torchlight in a 1000-year old monastery, once plundered by Vikings. It was a great setting and really adds to the atmosphere in the video.”
