Chasing Abbey announce debut album Cyber Celt
Along with an album announcement, the trio also released a new single
Chasing Abbey have announced their debut album titled Cyber Celt along with a new single 'Seachain'.
The album is set to release on September 18 and starting in July, the group will begin their world tour spanning across 51 cities, including Vicar Street on September 17 and Limelight 1 in Belfast the following day.
"Cyber Celt represents both a subtle description of the music and a philosophy we hold," said the group. "The coming together of ancient and modern. A soulful respect for the tradition with a burning desire for innovation.”
Comprised of Ronan Bell, Jonathan Byrne, and Ted Conway, the Tullamore trio formed in 2016 and draw on a mix of electronic and Celtic influences.
'Seachain', meaning 'watch out' in the Irish language, is inspired by this generations exposure to war crimes and genocide.
The trio are known for their hit singles like 'T.a.L.', 'Íorónta', and 'Oh My Johnny (Banks Of The Roses)' which became an instant dance classic from pubs to clubs around the world.
The group rose to fame when they released their debut single 'That Good Thing’ in 2016 and garnered millions of streams and scored the band a household name status in Ireland. The debut track topped the iTunes download chart in Ireland upon its release and went on to win RTÉ’s Choice Music Prize for Song of the Year.
