Ballykeeffe BUZZING to the Chasing Abbey beat! The Ballykeeffe Amphitheatre (Kilkenny) summer event program continued on Saturday night with dance-pop trio Chasing Abbey and ‘Oh my Johnny’ did they put on a show! Reimagining and reworking centuries-old Irish traditional songs and fusing them with their distinctive ‘Trad House’ sound. With every seat in the unique venue filled the trio of Ronan Bell (Ro), Jonathan Byrne (Bee) and Ted Conway (TeddyC) had the crowd up and on their feet from the very beginning. The high-BPM banjo-driven best was matched by the infectious energy of the group as they danced around every inch of the stage alternating between each other to sing and this effervescence transcended to the tiered crowd. From crowd favorites to new music, the boys were in top form putting on a spectacular show, there was even time for one lucky young girl Sienna Carroll to join the lads on stage. The 2024 summer program at Ballykeeffe Amphitheatre continues next weekend with midlands and west of Ireland 3-piece Amble.
Support on the night was from Dublin singer/songwriter Saibh Skelly.
