Chasing Abbey, The Jerry Fish Electric Show and Clodagh Lawlor among lineup at the Folly Festival this weekend
The festival describes itself as “Ireland’s first ever gender-balanced music and comedy weekend.”
Preparations are underway at Cullohil Castle, Co Laois, as the Folly Festival 2025 is set to take place this Friday and Saturday, July 4 and 5.
The lineup includes the Jerry Fish Electric Show, Clodagh Lawlor, Lisa McHugh, Chasing Abbey and Barry Deegan, with Down The Line and Nív recently announced.
“This weekend promises to prove very special," said organiser John Scanlan. "Not only are we celebrating the 600th anniversary of the iconic Cullohill Castle, we have an incredible line-up to suit all musical tastes.”
On Saturday, there will be a talk with Prof. Pádraig Ó Macháin, known locally as Pat Vaughn, to discuss the story behind the castle itself and its place within Irish history.
This year marks 600 years since Cullohill Castle was built in the early fifteenth century by the MacGillapatricks of Upper Ossory.
Folly Festival promotes the local community and talent with music, food, arts and culture. There will also be a painting demonstration by Durrow-native Marie Moylan and live performances by Irish trad group Cullohill Comhaltas.
For those interested, tickets for the festival are available here.
