Alicia Witt announces David Lynch-inspired album
The musician and actress first came to fame as a child after being discovered by David Lynch.
American actress and musician Alicia Witt has announced her new album, Between Heaven and Earth, out August 28.
Recorded in January this year in New York with musician and producer Joe Henry, the album is inspired by filmmaker David Lynch.
The filmmaker cast Witt in Dune (1984) as Alia and in Twin Peaks (1990) as Gersten Hayward. The album closes with 'The Director', a song inspired by Witt's reflections on Lynch's impact on her creative process.
The album's first single, 'Thank You', features a former member of Civil Wars, John Paul White.
In 2009, Witt released her self-titled extended play album, followed by Live at Rockwood in 2012 and Revisionary History in 2015.
Witt's last release was in November 2024 with her self-produced full-length Christmas album, I Think I'm Spending Christmas With You. The album was engineered by David Kalmusky and recorded in Nashville, Tennessee, where she resides.
Her tour in support of Between Heaven and Earth kicks off on September 10, with dates across North America.
