Watch: M.I.A. Premieres 'Go Off' Video
It's another thought provoking video from one of the most social conscious artists in music
M.I.A. has shared her new music video 'Go Off'. The latest single is produced by dubstep producer Skrillex and Blaqstarr.
As promised when she spoke on Annie Mac's BBC Radio 1 show yesterday, the activist artist said there would be no human beings in her video this time. She stated she is tired of luxurious clips like 'Bad Girls' or choreographed pieces like the 'Boarders' video.
Instead, M.I.A. has premiered a barren, lifeless video, that follows dump trucks from a helicopter view in the sky, as they drive around a muddy, rocky construction mining site.
No doubt in some small way it nods to the incessant mining for natural resources that plagues third world countries. Most notably, the mining for coltan that is vital for iPhones, neodymium that's used in magnets so speakers vibrate and europium that produces a bright red on a smartphone screen.
Watch the M.I.A. video for 'Go Off' below.
