Walking On Cars, Ash and more announced for New Year's Festival Dublin
Ring in 2020 with two days of special events in the capital.
Returning for its eighth year, New Year's Festival Dublin has revealed the line-up for its Countdown Concert. After a momentous year, Walking On Cars are set to headline the event on Custom House Quay, December 31, with special guests Ash, Aimee and Lisa McHugh.
This year, NYF Dublin boasts two action-packed days of New Year celebrations, including the Liffey Lights Midnight Moment Matinee, the Countdown Concert and the Liffey Lights Midnight Moment - all taking places at the iconic Custom House on New Year's Eve. On January 1, the celebrations are set to continue with a New Year's Day Concert in Temple Bar.
“We are very proud and excited to be bringing New Year’s Festival to the streets of Dublin," Lord Mayor of Dublin Paul McAuliffe revealed in a statement. "This two day festival programme promises to deliver a bigger party for both Dubliners and visitors alike while showcasing our beautiful City as a world class New Year’s destination."
Walking On Cars' headline slot coming at the end of a landmark year for the Dingle band, which saw the release of their acclaimed album Colours, stand-out concerts at Irish Independent Park and the 3Arena, and major international tour dates.
Celebrating the 25th anniversary of their debut album this year, Downpatrick trio Ash have cemented their status as one of the most exciting acts on these shores. Dublin singer-songwriter Aimee, meanwhile, is a hotly tipped star on the rise, while Glasgow-born artist Lisa McHugh will undoubtedly prove a hit among country fans.
Tickets for the Countdown Concert are €36.90 (incl. booking fee), and go on sale this Friday, October 18.
