Villagers debut at No.1 on Irish Albums Chart
The wonderful Darling Arithmetic is in with a golden bullet.
Darling Arithmetic is the third, terrific Villagers album and essentially a solo Conor O'Brien project in all but name. It's also the biggest selling album in the country this week and makes it three number ones in a row for O'Brien.
The Domino release shoots straight to the top of the Irish Albums Chart, displacing other Irish songsmith Hozier.
Ed Sheeran's X is in third, his pal Taylor Swift is just below and James Bay rounds off the Top 5.
Paul Simon is fresh from playing Dublin with Sting and his appearance has clearly given him a sales bounce – his Ultimate Collection enters the chart at No.7, just below Sam Smith.
It's a big debut too for The Mighty Stef, who see their Year Of The Horse enter at No. 8.
Other new entries include Handwritten by Shawn Mendes (11) and Calexico's Edge Of The Sun (17).
