Margaret Glaspy announces new album and Irish dates
The American singer-songwriter has announced a new album and unveils new single.
New York-based singer-songwriter Margaret Glaspy has announced her new album, I Am Both, and released a new single, 'Michigan'.
I Am Both is being supported with a UK & Ireland tour this October, with performances in Cyprus Avenue, Cork, on October 26; Upstairs at Dolan's, Limerick, on October 27; and The Deer's Head, Belfast, on October 28.
The album comes as a follow-up to 2025's The Golden Heart Protector and 2023's Echo The Diamond.
"I was in Michigan a couple of years back and had a really beautiful time, and thought about how New Yorkers sometimes fantasise about the countryside as a retreat from the intensity of the city," said Glaspy on her single. "It turned into a song about someone going through a bad breakup, and then deciding to just leave the city behind."
Glaspy wrote the record with a newfound clarity after quitting social media.
"When I started writing for this record, I had a goal of getting my practice back - to walk the walk in terms of how I envision myself as a songwriter," Glaspy reflected. "At first, it was really hard to break that addiction to social media, but after a while, something shifted. It felt like I'd gotten back to my original thought instead of being under the influence of so many outside opinions. It was life-changing."
Tickets go on sale June 5 at 10 am and are available here.
