UPDATE: Sweeney's Bar Is To Close In June
The well known music venue has just announced it will be closing its doors for good in June.
Much loved concert venue and bar, Sweeney's, has confirmed it will close down this June. The popular bar has been the host to countless gigs and has become one of the more popular watering holes in the city over the years. Confirmation of the closure came via the bar's social media accounts today with a full statement released on their Facebook page.

The announcement was first spotted yesterday on Sweeney's website with a post titled The End Of The World As We Know it."Yes we're closing, the current owners are selling the building. If whoever buys it wants to keep it as a bar we will reopen but it's all very uncertain right now," a member of staff told Hot Press.
Fans and artists have been paying tribute to the iconic Dublin venue.
So Sweeneys is closing it's doors too. It's going to be great when the city is nothing but hotels and offices.
