You would never expect Arab Strap to fully embrace moody electronic pop regardless of their occasional minimal techno leanings. And you certainly wouldn’t expect the dreaded Bis, responsible for the dreadful indie schmindie war crime against music that was ‘Kandy Pop’, to craft such an accomplished smouldering remix. Non-obligatory reference points are Depeche Mode, New Order, lots of Scotch whiskey and not being able to make any sense out of the weekend or even being with it enough to decide if you’re in a good mood or not, but still sounding ravishingly beautiful. “We might never sleep again.” Staying awake and listening to this is more than just another good idea.
