Trad supergroup forms for Belfast gig
The Chieftains, Dubliners, Planxty and Moving Hearts are all on their collective CV.
A new trad supergroup is to get together in support of Belfast’s Suicide Awareness charity.
Taking part in the May 4 fundraiser in the Waterfront are Liam O’Flynn (Planxty), Sean Keane (The Chieftains), Liam O Maonlai (Hothouse Flowers), Shaun Davey (composer of The Brendan Voyage), Neil Martin (Christy Moore, The Dubliners), Arty McGlynn (Van Morrison, Patrick Street, De Dannan), Seamus Begley (Mary Black, The Chieftains), Noel Eccles (Moving Hearts, U2, The Corrs) and renowned solo vocalist Rita Connolly.
They’ll need a big stage, but it promises to be a night to remember.
