This is the Last Time

Twinkly piano? Check. Choir-boy falsetto vocals? Check. Windswept sentimentality? Check. Keane are turning out to be something of a one trick pony, but when the trick is this good, no-one really seems to mind. ‘This Is The Last Time’ is an accomplished, exuberant moment of lively pop, and the song neatly showcases the soaring vocals of Tom Chaplin. They’re certainly some way off from shrugging that ‘new Coldplay’ tag, but this single is a nicely upbeat antidote to Chris Martin’s often-pained lamenting.
