Think is thunk
Spidermonkeys, formerly known as Think, are taking the reins and heading for exciting destinations
Having released their debut album Gimme That Sound earlier this year, Think have split with their record label and rechristened themselves Spidermonkeys.
According to main monkey man Terry McGuinness, the band left Studio Loop Records so that they could be in total control of the management and publishing processes. They are currently working on new material for the Spidermonkeys debut, which they're releasing on their own label, Hotwire. Singer/songwriter McGuinness, who is currently collaborating with Jerry Fish, says that the band has been attracting major label attention in the US and the UK.
Their new moniker is more suitable for the direction they’re taking: "The name Think was a bit too serious for us, it was a bit too clever for its own good," explains McGuinness, "and we’ve always said we’re kinda like primates."
The band will play their first gig as Spidermonkeys at the Zoo club in Killkenny on November 7.
