Pope Leo XIV meets Bad Bunny in Madrid
They had a private meeting at Santiago Bernabéu stadium during the Pope’s state visit to Spain.
Pope Leo XIV received Puerto Rican superstar Bad Bunny in a private meeting at Santiago Bernabéu stadium in Madrid on Monday.
The Pope was in the Spanish capital as part of his official visit to Spain, while Bad Bunny has been in the city since late May for a 10-concert residency at the Riyadh Air Metropolitano, sparking speculation on their possible meeting in recent days.
It followed a packed meeting between the Pope and Madrid's diocesan community on the iconic football grounds.
No photos from the meeting are expected to be released to the public, the Vatican said.
"If they were confronted with the question, do you want to go to Bad Bunny or see the Pope, I think many will go to see Bad Bunny," the Pope said ahead of his visit to Madrid. "But I think there will also be a few here to see the pope, and that says something."
According to RTVE, Bad Bunny attended the meeting accompanied by family members and others who were also received by Leo XIV.
