The Pitt and Hacks lead the Emmy Nominations
HBO Max shows up for Best Comedy and Best Drama, Bad Bunny's Super Bowl makes history and Lady Gaga nominated for 'The Dead Dance'.
The 2026 Emmy nominations have been announced, with HBO Max shows The Pitt and Hacks leading the nominations.
The Super Bowl halftime show is nearly always nominated, but this year's Bad Bunny performance on NBC made history, pulling in nine nominations.
Medical drama The Pitt, in its second season received 25 nominations, including one for Best Drama. Hacks, in its final season earned 24 nominations, breaking the record for most nominations for a comedy series that was held jointly by The Studio in 2025 and The Bear in 2024.
A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, which was made in Northern Ireland received nine nominations, including one for Best Drama. In Outstanding Cinematography for a series, Darran Tiernan is nominated for Spider-Noir.
All Her Fault, the thriller adapted from Irish writer Andrea Mara's novel of the same title, is up for Best Limited Series.
Hacks star Jean Smart has won Best Actress in a comedy every season thus far and is nominated for a fifth time. Co-star Hannah Einbinder won her first Emmy last year for Best Supporting Actress in a comedy and is nominated for a fifth time. Paul W. Downs, the show's co-creator, got three nominations for acting, writing and producing.
The Pitt won Best Drama series, Best Actor for Noah Wyle and Best Supporting Actress for Katherine LaNasa in its first season. The day-in-the-life-emergency room show is back this year, with Wyle nominated again for Best Actor as well as LaNasa.
"Using profanity, showing nudity, and being able to use more phot-realistic wounds increased the dramatic tension and authenticity of our show," Wyle told Hot Press in March. "But those are also easy, low-hanging fruit devices to tell your story. So it's not a question of 'Can we?' - it's a question of 'Should we?' Using discretion and taste becomes a little more important.'
