Jack White announces new album Frozen Charlotte

Jack White has announced his seventh studio album, Frozen Charlotte, out July 10. Lead single 'Dollar Bill' is out now.

Rather than making a formal announcement, the record has quietly gone on sale through White's website.

The album artwork depicts a sculpture, which White explained in an Instagram post.

“A "frozen Charlotte" is a penny doll toy from victorian times, they were ceramic but could float or have a dress put over, recalling an old folk song about a girl who froze to death from not dressing properly in the winter.”

“Many versions of the sculpture started to come out of me, different personalities and characters, some to mimic the fast airbrush style of cheap carnival prizes made assembly line style, and some more elaborately painted, all of which are in the art show”.

This is not the first time White has taken an unconventional approach to announcing and releasing an album. His 2024 record No Name was distributed as unlabelled white vinyl records, gifted to customers placing orders through his record store, Third Man Records.

White is set to play three shows in Ireland in August and September. Two nights at Dublin's 3Olympia and one night at the Telegraph Building in Belfast, both shows are sold out.

White first rose to prominence as the lead singer and guitarist of The White Stripes, the rock duo best known for the hit single ‘Seven Nation Army’. Following the band's split in 2011, he launched a successful solo career, releasing multiple studio albums.
