James Blunt announces new album Airplane Mode and Irish dates

James Blunt has announced his upcoming album Airplane Mode, due out on November 6 via Atlantic Records.

The release will be supported by a major tour including a show in Dublin’s 3Arena on March 30, 2027, followed by a stop in Belfast’s The O2 on March 31.

The record will include previously released single ‘Tastes Like Summer’, as well as the brand new track ‘Weight Of It All’.

Airplane Mode was mostly recorded at Pig Music Studios, with Blunt saying: “Somewhere back there, I lost my way, but found it again in a studio in Banbury.”

The new record marks his first since the 2024 Back to Bedlam re-release, marking 20 years since its original edition.

Back to Bedlam was one of the best-selling albums of the 2000s in the UK, and is 17th on the list of the best-selling in UK chart history.
