They Liked You Better When You Were Dead
Here comes Charlie Simpson from Busted's opportunity to be taken seriously with Fightstar’s debut EP. It’s not bad either, certainly putting a fair amount of ground between present and past.
Anyone who saw the weirdly entertaining documentary series about Busted’s attempts to break America would have realised that Charlie Simpson was not long for the pop world, such was the poor lad’s constant moping and demands to be taken seriously. Here then comes that opportunity with Fightstar’s debut EP. It’s not bad either, certainly putting a fair amount of ground between present and past. There is a sneaking feeling that they’ve perhaps thrown too much of the melody baby out with the pop bathwater but it all points to an interesting future.
