The Waterboys to release new album Atlantic Rain, featuring unreleased tracks from Fisherman's Blues sessions
The exact release date is yet to be announced.
The Waterboys have announced their new album Atlantic Rain, due out in June.
Atlantic Rain is a triple album comprising 19 previously undiscovered tracks from their fourth studio album Fisherman's Blues. The record will also include "6 or 7 extended or restored familiar songs," said the band's singer Mike Scott on social media.
Atlantic Rain will be available on vinyl and CD. The 6-track 10" vinyl EP will contain 6 additional tracks.
The Waterboys have released a total of 25 albums. The band's membership throughout the years has been composed of different musicians, with Scott being the only constant member. The original version of Fisherman's Blues was produced and released by Mike Scott, Vinnie Kilduff, Bob Johnston, and John Dunford in 1988.
Overall, over 85 musicians have performed live as The Waterboys since the the band has been founded. In 2025, they have been rejoined by Steve Wickham, and newly joined by Steve Earle and Roar Øien for the Fisherman’s Blue Revue 2026 tour, set to take place this summer.
