RÓIS announces MO LÉAN re-release and new single via Domino

RÓIS has announced her signing to Domino and the re-release of her second album MO LÉAN, due out on November 20. The global release will also include the brand-new track ‘PORT NA H-EALA’.

To celebrate the announcement, the Fermanagh-born artist has released a live performance of ‘WHAT DO YOU SAY (LIVE FROM A WAKE)’.

Released in 2024, MO LÉAN was awarded the Album of the Year title at the Northern Ireland Music Prize, and was shortlisted for the Choice Music Prize.

In 2025, ROÍS took home the Best Emerging Artist at the RTÉ Radio 1 Folk Awards, while the track ‘CAOINE’ was also named Best Original Folk Track.

Originally self-released, MO LÉAN was written and produced by the musician – with additional production from John ‘Spud’ Murphy, known for his work with ØXN and Lankum – and delves into Irish wake traditions that stretch back to pre-Christian times, with a particular focus on the practise of coffin-side keening.

In an interview with Hot Press at the end of last year, ROÍS described the record as being most interested in the “anachronism of the sean nós” presented alongside “synths and big, booming soundscapes”.
