Bressie and Sharon both faced tough decisions this week as the Battle stages continued...
The Voice Of Ireland continued this week with members of Teams Bressie, Kian, Sharon and Jamelia going head-to-head in the third week of the Battles.
First up this week was Team Jameliah's Ben Tighe and Dylan Powell, who took on 'Numb' by Linkin Park. Despite struggling in rehearsals both contestants gave passionate and energetic performances, but it was Dylan who made it through to the live shows.
Things didn't run quite as smoothly though for Sharon this week. Her original pairing of Mark McLaughlin and John Gaughan was broken up when news came through that Mark had broken a rib and was unable to continue in the competition. Sharon who has 13 on her team, was forced to draft one of the girls from the previously selected three-way battle to join John. Jennifer Lyons was the girl who lost out, and went on to face John in battle.
The pair were given just 48 hours to learn 'Marry You' and both put forward convincing cases to go through to the live shows. Kian told Jennifer she had upped her game whereas it really didn’t happen for John, and feels Jennifer should go through. Jamelia disagreed and said she is in love with John. "Your voice is so unexpected, you excite me," she added. John wins out though and goes through with Sharon for the live shows.
Up next was Aoife and Fiona who were originally in the three-way battle. Sharon was proud of them both but felt that Aoife had the edge and took her through to the live shows.

The toughest decision of the night however fell to Bressie who alongside Jerry Fish struggled to separate Katy Anna Mohan and Michelle Cunningham who delivered a faultless version of Crowded House's 'Fall At Your Feet'. Kian thought that Michelle had a recording voice, and also had a go at Bressie for pairing the girls together. Jamelia also got in on the act admitting that she didn’t remember Michelle’s audition, but following this performance she won’t forget her. When the dust settled it was Katy Anna who got the nod from Bressie. .
It was boy band vs rock band next with Bono impersonator Derek Power going head to head with Daryl. Daryl probably edged out Derek performance wise and had enough potential for Kian to take him through.
The final performance of the night pitched guitar playing Tommy Mc Nulty against the shy Jennifer Moore. Jameliah chose 'Can’t Find the Moonlight' for them to perform. Bressie felt they both delivered good vocal performances but it was Jennifer who went through.
The Live Shows begin on March 17.
