And introduce fans to their new Berlin-inspired album, Klang.
The Rakes are Dublin-bound on March 23 for a show in The Button Factory, tickets for which go on sale on Tuesday January 20 priced €16.
The date coincides with the release of their third album, Klang, which was recorded in a Bauhaus-designed, Soviet-era radio station in East Berlin.
“The London music scene is so dull – it's like wading through a swamp of shit,” says singer Alan Donohoe. “We just wanted to be somewhere more inspiring. Someone suggested Berlin. It didn't take long for everybody to agree, we packed our bags and moved here just like that. We love it.”
As for what their new baby sounds like, Donohoe adds: "The album is raw, playful, exciting, complex and schizophrenic – much like the personality of Berlin itself. It couldn't be more of a fitting place to record it.”
