The Cork band's new single is available as a free download
Bantry natives The Calvinists have much to celebrate - they're playing the Workman's Club next Tuesday, March 22, and despite never having played outside of Cork, they've recently been lauded by the New York Times.
The paper's Matt Gross wrote that the band were: "Awesome: straight-up rock with a country accent... the whole room hummed with enthusiasm and pride. I was part of something. Maybe this was a moment that, years from now, I’d remember as a big one."
The country/blues band are currently putting the finishing touches on their debut album. Its first single, 'Anchor' is available as a free download from their website: [link]www.thecalvinists.com[/link].

The Workman's Club gig is a recession-busting 'pay what you see fit' affair, with doors opening at 8pm. Definitely ones to watch...
