The Blizzards are the latest Irish stars to be added to the line-up for Music Show, which takes place in the RDS on October 3 and 4, adding hugely to a bill that already includes The Coronas, Imelda May and Republic of Loose, among the current leading lights of Irish rock.
The highly rated Mullingar outfit have been making huge strides since the release of their debut album A Public Display of Affection was released in 2006. Their follow-up The Domino Effect delivered a No.2 single in 'Trust Me I'm A Doctor', before itself hitting the No.2 spot on its release. The band are multiple Meteor Award winners and have progressed hugely as a live band, currently ranking among the country's biggest draws. They recently played the main stage at Oxegen and drew a huge crowd despite the teeming rain.
Identified as a band with major international potential, The Blizzards have been signed to the Island label for the UK and The Domino Effect is due for an imminent release there.
The Music Show, presented by Hot Press in association with RTÉ 2FM, The Irish Independent & The Sunday Independent, runs from October 3-4th in The RDS, Dublin. Saturday 3rd October 10 am - 6.30 pm, Sunday 4th October 11 am - 6 pm.
