Nell Mescal announces new EP The Closest We’ll Get and Irish headline tour dates
Check out the project’s title track below
Singer-songwriter Nell Mescal has announced the release of her new EP as well as Irish headline tour dates in Dublin, Belfast and Cork.
The Closest We’ll Get, out October 24 via Atlantic Records.
The project follows last month’s single ‘Carried Away’ and arrives with the release of its title track, out today.
Produced by Philip Weinrobe — known for his work with Adrianne Lenker, Billie Marten, and Cass McCombs — the EP explores the blurred line between friendship and romance, according to Mescal.
“The Closest We’ll Get is a collection of songs that tell a story about two people and how their relationship is in the grey area of friends or lovers,” she said.
“Each song is a realisation of how sitting in the in-between affected me and in turn affected the ‘friendship.’”
Alongside the release, Mescal has also announced her biggest headline tour to date.
The 12-date run will take place across Ireland and the UK later this year, with Irish stops at Dublin’s Button Factory on December 1 – Belfast’s Limelight 2 on December 2 – and Cork’s Cyprus Avenue on December 4.
Tickets go on sale next Friday, August 29, at 9:30 a.m. via Ticketmaster.
