Take me to the bridge
Funk fans are in for the night of their lives on June 24 when James Brown does his legendary bump 'n' grind thing in Vicar St.
A former semi-pro boxer and baseball player, Brown's career exploded in the '60s with hits like 'I Got You', 'It's A Man's Man's Man's World', 'I Got The Feelin'' and 'Sex Machine' making him a pop and R'n'B chart regular.
Despite some well-publicised personal problems, Brown enjoyed a commercial renaissance during the '80s with 'Living In America' and was officially declared the most sampled artist of all-time last year. Add in a Grammy Award for Lifetime Achievement and there really is no one quite like him.
Tickets priced €59.50 go on sale on Sunday March 28 at 12 noon.
