‘Supernova’ is a fairly straightforward affair musically but the vocals and lyrics are slightly off-kilter and as tongue-in-cheek as ever. “I have lived all over the place but you have got my favourite face,” Liz deadpans about someone whose eyelashes sparkle! However, to get a real taste of the highly recommended Ms Phair, check out the b-side Combo Platter which contains the delightful refrain “It looks like shit and it feels like America” along with some scathing self-mockery.
