Jason Pierce sings “nothing hurts you like the pain of someone you love” in his best strung out drawl, as a thirty piece orchestra and choir sweep the chorus off to a bug-eyed land all of its own.
‘Stop Your Cryin’ is a classic orchestral pop song, recalling an age of Scott Walker and Duke Ellington, when pop music really meant something. Hallelujah.
