Cult: “Star” (Beggars Banquet)

Still making cults of themselves after all these years on the evidence of ‘Star’, Cult have actually aged quite well. Believe it or not I bought their very first single about two thousand years ago and little else after that but ‘Star’ reconvinces me that Cult really are definitively embracing the spirit of rock and roll and have rediscovered a new clarity and meaning to their music at long last.
