Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark actor Reeve Carney to play The Workman's Club
Actor Reeve Carney switches into solo musician mode on March 1 when he visits the Dublin Workman’s Club. Tickets are €12.
Currently working on his debut LP, Carney was the first person to play the titular superhero in Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark on Broadway.
“Reeve was everything we could have hoped for: an amazing voice and a truly charismatic presence,” enthuses Bono who co-wrote much of the score with The Edge.
Although now highly successful and about to hit Vegas, the show got off to a nightmarish start with last year’s Song Of Spider-Man: The Inside Story Of The Most Controversial Musical In Broadway History documenting a series of mis-haps, which are still the subject of court proceedings.
Also the leader of Carney whose Mr. Green Vol. 1 is out through Interscope, the 30-year-old has gone on to be cast as Jeff Buckley in the upcoming Mystery White Boy biopic, and is playing Dorian Gray in Showtime’s new Penny Dreadful series, which was shot last year in Dublin premieres in May.
