Headswim: “Soup” (Crush/Epic)

If you’re looking for musical references in order to pin down the sound of Headswim then perhaps a bastardised and possibly inferior compound of the Dead Kennedys, Nirvana and Killing Joke might be a reasonable approximation. Judged on its own merits ‘Soup’ is an exciting tribalistic pummelling of fairly familiar ground but it has enough going for it to get most inert bodies moving. Life is empty, say Headswim, but if ‘Soup’ is anything to go by then emptiness is an infinite trough of inspiration all the same.
