Sinead O'Connor's nude painting sold to highest bidder
Jim Fitzpatrick's nude painting of Sinead O'Connor has sold at auction for €15,000
A nude painting of Sinead O’Connor went under the hammer for €15,000 at an auction in Dublin last night.
Strange Days, created by Jim Fizpatrick, whose portfolio includes O’Connor’s Faith and Courage artwork and the Che Guevara poster (you know the one), was originally commissioned for a nightclub but was instead purchased by Sinead herself. It depicts her reclining, looking out on the Pigeon House area of Dublin, with her back to the painter, but her face is reflected in a mirror. She wears nothing but stockings and a necklace.
O’Connor, who recently announced her return to the music scene to Hot Press, has now sold the painting on for the price it was expected to fetch.
