Stevie Wonder releases four unheard Songs in the Key of Life tracks

Stevie Wonder has released an EP featuring four unheard songs from his Songs in the Key of Life album to celebrate its 50th anniversary.

Chosen by Wonder himself from the outtakes, the four songs include 'It's Easier', 'My Life Story of Love', 'I Can See the Sun in Late December' and 'I'm Into Livin'. They are out now as Songs in the Key of Life: The EP.

"We've lived with Songs in the Key of Life for 50 years, but there's still more to hear," he said in a statement. "We didn't add these songs to the album, but they were part of what I was feeling and discovering as we made it. They bring me back to that time in my life, and now they get to become part of yours."

Wonder embarks on an anniversary tour of the original album next month, including a stop at Dublin's 3Arena on November 1.

The songs were all written and produced by Wonder, though 'My Life Story of Love' includes a co-writing credit for former Supremes member Susaye Green, who also co-wrote Michael Jackson's 'I Can't Help It' with Wonder. The album's original engineers, John Fischbach and Gary O Adante, also returned to mix the tracks.

The voices of then-future stars Thelma Houston and Deniece Williams can be heard as backing vocals on 'I'm Into Livin', along with Shirley Brewer who features on the original record's 'Ordinary Pain'.

The original album won album of the year at the 19th Grammy Awards in 1977, and contains a number of Wonder's landmark tracks such as 'Sir Duke', 'As' and 'Isn't She Lovely'.
