Sex With Strangers
Taken from the shortly-to-be-released Kissin’ Time album, this single is one of three on that album co-written by Beck. An upper middle class bored housewife does a Grace Jones impression over a somnambulistic mix by Sly and Robbie: “Nothing you can do will save her/Now it’s time for sex with someone else.” I can see the unbrushed blonde hair behind the muslin curtains, I can smell the stale cigarette smoke on the air, this is a Pinter play in five minutes. They’re coming to take her away, ha-ha.
