Sarah McQuaid calls for singers
Singer-songwriter Sarah McQuaid is looking for vocalists to join her onstage on her upcoming UK and Ireland tour.
Sarah has written a six-part cannon entitled 'In Gratitude I Sing', and is looking for any singers who plan on attending shows on her UK and Ireland tour to join her onstage to perform the song.
The canon was recently debuted in Grampound Village Hall in Cornwall, where members of some locally-based bands agreed to help Sarah out on the song.
"Up to that point I'd only heard the different parts together inside my own head, having just written it that morning," says Sarah, "so I was terrified that they'd turn out to clash! I also wasn't a hundred percent sure that the key would be okay for both male and female voices.
"But actually they sounded even better together than I could have imagined, even with only five of the six parts – one man and four women including myself – and the range was fine for everybody, thank goodness."
Sarah now continues with her spring tour, with dates across the UK and Ireland. For full gig listings, and to download the sheet music for 'In Gratitude I Sing', see www.sarahmcquaid.com.
