The much-loved Abbey Theatre stalwart passed away yesterday
Fresh from picking up a Best Supporting Actress IFTA for her portrayal of Hecate Poole in Peaky Blinders, Sarah Greene has bagged herself a starring role alongside Luke Roberts in new CBS drama, The Ransom. She’s playing a young psychological profiler eager to impress. With Frank Spotnitz of The X-Files and Man In The High Castle renown the co-creator, big things are expected of the 13-parter, which is currently shooting in Toronto and hitting screens in 2017.
On a sad note, Sarah has paid tribute to Abbey Theatre stalwart Anita Reeves who died yesterday aged 67 from cancer. Best-known for her roles in Adam & Paul, Into The West, Dancing At Lughnasa, and The Butcher Boy, she was the proverbial actor’s actor.
“I was so lucky to have known you, Anita,” Greene says. “Thank you for inspiring me, for helping me grow and for all the many laughs we shared along our journey. I love you to the moon and back and I will miss you always. Travel safe.”
